PS16 - Souris (senic)
(All photos by William Matheson)

Work ongoing by the Souris Bridge.

Left: The Platter House, now no more. =(

Most provinces are now setting aside important roads to be designated as the "Veterans Memorial Highway." Highway 2 spans the length of the Island and is the second-best road here, so it's a good choice. In Nova Scotia, Highway 102 from Truro to Fall River (where the road forks, with the 118 going to Dartmouth) is the Veterans Memorial - in Ontario, it is the 416 between the 401 and Kanata (Ottawa).

There needs to be a way to disable the colour-correction on this camera - it took the surreal sepia look of the moment and "corrected" it into normal colours.

The backyard.

The rear entrance to Souris Hospital.

And, here is my dentist's Studebaker. =) (So if you thought willmatheson.com was reaching too far, you haven't seen anything yet...)

Some pictures from the ferry terminal in Souris. The ferry connects Souris, PE, to Cap aux Meules, QC.

Inside the Terminal.

Ah, those country people... they can't spell, but they know a good RV when they see one.

This is what you first drive upon after leaving the ferry.

Highway #2, Souris West.

Main Street sunset.

Inside the CIBC Bank Machine kiosk. I love those little measuring rulers they have at bank machines now - they're great when you need to know how much you've grown since your last transaction.

I also love the "knee cam."

"Well, officer, the footage shows us the suspect was wearing black shoes and blue jeans."
"Okay. Now, um, sex? Hair? Eyes? Age?"
"Officer, we call it the 'knee cam' for a reason."
