Just as we were getting ready to head to the field, a bunch of Dalhousie Frosh Leaders and Frosh showed up. Their chants weren't very good; most of them - well, there were only two chants, but they both had the F-word in them. Ours were a little cleaner and we had like ten different chants.

I ran into the middle of this and said, "Hey, wait, let's take turns - that way we can hear each other's chants!" just as a joke, but then one of the facilitators gave my backpack a yank and dragged me back out again.

Water cools all tempers.

Yikes, this is like war or something. Kind of a waste of energy in my opinion, but I guess these spirit chants and events are part of the economic structure of university. If people aren't happy with their school, they might not pay for another year of ho-hum.

The football team was late getting off the field. I don't grudge them for it, because it looks like they've put the extra time to good use, beating Mount Alison 69-0, beating St. Francis Xavier 64-14... I suggested that we should go out and toss the pigskin with them, but this suggestion was not taken up by anyone. What is it with my ideas failing to be accepted? =)

We go through some chants, then the Frosh get their Freshman Class of 2003-2004 photo taken. See the high-res version of this image.

Some butt-SMUing. See the high-res version of this image.

Yeah, you'd better run! This is our field now!

... and then my camera battery ran out (apparently they don't design them for people who actually take pictures every day). And then we didn't get to be in the Frosh picture. And then we started doing things a lot differently than last year. But everyone else had a fun TURFBURN, and that's all that matters.

I didn't go to the Glow Promotions Olympics (I kind of needed a break from Frosh Leading), but Jenn did. Between Jenn and Drew and I, we managed to cover just about everything.

Can you believe the Lakers scouting people missed out on this?

What's with the sex toys? I thought we were supposed to have a wholesome Frosh Week.

I guess this explains the prints in my backyard woods, but I'm still at a loss as to how to explain the guttural roars.

See all the high-res images linked to from this page, on one page. (Not for faint-of-heart computers.)
